EP 22: Breaking News and Breaking Records (featuring guest Eric Walling)

Guest Eric Walling joined the bench for a very interesting game hosted by Eric Ede. In it we get some breaking news, Eric Walling sets a new record in How Low Can You Go, Eric Ede loses control multiple times, not much is known about the 1990 NBA assist leaders, everyone wants Rick Pitino to have Ryan Fitzpatrick's beard, and Eric Ede comes up with two virtually un-answerable 4th quarter questions. Oh, and Eric Ede just gives the teams the answer to a question. Classic Beanchwarmer move bro!

EP 21: The Ballad of Ol' Bibby Smith

This was an episode recorded in June and we pushed it back with so many great guests on the show. But we figured we had to get it out sometime. Enjoy! 

 

Evidently Eric didn't know that Elton John was from the UK, but he thinks Sir Charles Barkley MIGHT be British. And there's some confusion about who had an affair with LeBron's mom... Either way, Eric and Mason take on JJ and Dan while Scott mixes a nice spread of easier questions with some challenging one. 

EP 20: I Met Him At The Cheesecake Factory (featuring guest Taylor Schroll)

Houston native Taylor Scholl joins the podcast which is great, but the only problem is that he is facing the juggernaut team of Eric and Dan. Can Taylor and benchwarmer JJ overcome the odds? In this episode we learn that palindromes are ALWAYS correct, that Wayne Gretzky is the far superior brother, and that apparently you can walk into a Cheesecake Factory and meet a plethora of famous people! Wait until the end for a fourth quarter JJ meltdown. :-)

EP 19: Pre-Meditated Soup Assault (featuring Adrian Dater)

Adrian Dater, editor-in-chief of Colorado Hockey Now (coloradohockeynow.com), teamed up with Eric against Josh and Dan in a game hosted by Mason. The teams show off their knowledge of team mascots and Marlins players (even though they thought they didn't know that many), Mason is once again given a hard time for older sports questions, Eric somehow remembers a terrible song about basketball, and everyone has to wonder what might cause someone to throw a bowl of soup.

EP18: The Brett Favre Backup Plan (featuring guest Tim Geving)

Matt hosted a game with guest Tim Geving teaming up with Mason, against the benchwarmer team of Scott & JJ. In the episode we covered: Perfection snatched away in the last second, that Brett Favre had a ton of good backups, the Pirates have had a tough run over the past 40 years, Matt loves talking about the ABA and he crams in another Lynn Dickey reference.

EP 17: We lost Matt Prater and Christian Bale as listeners (featuring Davo & Kels from the Brain Ladle Trivia Podcast)

Josh hosted a nail-biter of a game in which the Benchwarmer team of Matt and Scott were challenged by the Tag Team duo of Davo and Kels from the Brain Ladle Trivia Podcast. We found out that Kels isn't to be messed with when it comes to Oscar winners and that Davo likes to check in answers early without the assistance of his teammate (he probably should have waited). We also learned that there can be three Dean's Lists that can't be completed and that Matt tries to cheat in the Missing Link by submitting two themes at once...Nice try, Matt!

EP 16: Benchwarmers in Cars Answering Trivia (featuring guest Mike Williams)

Eric hosted a great game in which we learned that Raiders owner, Mark Davis does not have great hair, The 2000 NBA draft was NOT one of the all time greats, and that an NFL punter used to keep a candy bar in his shoe. We discuss every tight end in the NFL, and seem to confuse the two Ohio NFL teams. And now I am getting hungry. Guest Mike Williams teams up with Josh, against the team of Scott and Mason.

EP 15: Cheeks Richard (Featuring Levak & Goz of 104.5 The Team ESPN Radio New York)

Levack & Goz of 104.5 The Team ESPN Radio joined us on the bench for this game. Dan was rolling as the host until he slayed the ESPN boys in the third quarter. But this close game came down to the last question. In this episode we learned which cities have Big 12 schools, how handsome Eric Decker is, and that the theatre and NBA twitter are two VERY different things. We also found out who Terry Sawchuck is, and Maurice Cheeks Richard was created! Even Goz’s kid joined the fun as he hiccuped through this adventure!

EP 14: John Brodie Croyle (featuring guest Andrew Thomas)

Guest Andrew Thomas joins Benchwarmer Scott against Eric and Josh on the bench. Mason hosts a game where the teams reveal their disdain for Lizzo and for Mason's Matt-esque questions, Eric manages to pull out an answer with an assist from his dad, and Scott shows off his pipes during halftime.

EP 13: Jagr’s Jock Salt (featuring guests Michael Searles & Jeremy Cahnmann)

We welcome guests Jeremy Cahnmann and Michael Searles to the bench for this episode. Eric hosts a game featuring: Doc River's sweatshirt, ESPN anchors in a Hootie & the Blowfish video, another Kevin Costner movie question that Scott loved, the only goal song anyone knows about any other team in the NHL (damn you Chelsea Dagger!!!), and the many different meanings of the 500 club.
